Pineapple Support Announces Post-Holiday Performer Therapy Workshop

LOS ANGELES — Adult industry’s mental health resource Pineapple Support has announced a seven-week sex worker support group in conjunction with Connective Therapy.

Beginning on Monday, December 2, the weekly support group will focus on performer well-being, and will be facilitated by sex therapists Angie Gunn and Raquel Savage.

The group is "free for women and femmes in the industry and is inclusive of all types of sex work, focusing on the complex needs of those in the field. The conversations will be collaborative and interactive, addressing trauma, relationships, emotions and navigating personal well-being and work sustainability," a rep said.

"We’re incredibly excited to launch this new initiative, aimed at providing further support to sex workers,” said Pineapple Support founder Leya Tanit. “Angie and Raquel both have a wealth of experience which will be invaluable for those looking for help navigating the complexities of life as a sex worker. We made the decision to close the group at ten participants to ensure a close-knit community for the duration of this seven-week course.”

Pineapple Support was founded in 2018 by Tanit, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization has so far connected over 500 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support.

The group sessions will meet on Mondays at 2 p.m. EST. The course starts on December 2, with breaks for the holidays. The first ten qualifying applicants will be admitted to the closed group and take part in all sessions. To reserve your place, please visit the program's website.
